  • Friday: 20:00 - 03:00

Nocturna

We received very good feedback on the Nocturnas of last year's marathon. That's why we're planning to dance with you in the dark again this year.
Dancing in complete darkness is a very intense dance experience because we are not distracted and influenced by visual impressions and judgments.
You can find a detailed description of the Nocturne in our FAQ.

Workshops

Saturday, 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM, followed by Tango-Wave, 2:30 PM – 4:00 PM

5Rhythms Meets Tango

Experience Tango Anew – Movement Between Power and Lightness

What happens when Tango meets the archetypal life energies of the 5Rhythms?
In this workshop, we open up new dimensions for Tango:
The five rhythms—Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical, and Stillness—serve not merely as an external source of inspiration but enrich the dance from within, introducing entirely new qualities and modes of expression.

Complemented by techniques from Contact Improvisation, a space is created where Tango—and you along with it—can transform, expand, and unfold. Feel what it means to connect with clear, powerful energy—or with delicate, airy lightness. Allow whatever wants to emerge to simply happen.

Why this workshop?

Katrin and Felipe’s joint workshop at the Phantastango Summer Camp in 2025 was an unforgettable highlight for us—an experience that resonated with us long after it ended.
We are thrilled that Felipe is taking us—and you—on this special journey once again, and we look forward to diving into this extraordinary world together.

Sunday, 12:30 PM – 2:00 PM

Workshop: Structure and Freedom

Play with the interplay between clear form and free-flowing movement—discover how structure and freedom go hand in hand in (Neo-)Tango!

This workshop is all about creative, playful dancing—without getting stuck in familiar patterns or losing yourself in unstructured play. We’ll show you how the two complement and enrich one another.
A strong connection with your partner forms the foundation for creative dancing. Through dance posture, solid grounding, and physical alignment, this connection provides the necessary structure for our dance—even when incorporating familiar elements.
It is precisely this structure that grants us freedom: it enables improvisation and opens up space for playful, creative movement.
Prepare to be surprised by just how much freedom can be found within clear form!

Why this workshop?

Katja & Klaus are returning for their third visit because we love how their inspiring, playful workshops expand our Neo-Tango skills and enrich our dancing.

Practical tips

  • Hungry? There are several restaurants and supermarkets nearby. You can find flyers on the information board or on the counter in the foyer.
  • Moments of calm: It’s just a 2-minute walk to Berner Gutspark, Berner Schloss, and Berner Au.
  • Need to cool off? Try Strandbad Farmsen, Parkbad Volksdorf, Familienbad Rahlstedt, or Stadtparksee.
  • Arriving by car? You can park in the residential area around the Volkshaus, but please make sure to keep driveways and intersections clear so we don’t upset the local residents.
  • Where can you park your camper/mobile home? There is a great parking area at Gutshaus Berne / Berner Schloss (Berner Allee 31, 22159 Hamburg) that is also well-suited for campers. Shower facilities are available; please register for this at check-in.

Registration

  • Registration takes place via a Google form, through which we receive all the necessary information. A few days after you fill out the form, we will send you an email with further information (request for payment or information about the waiting list).
If the response is positive, your registration becomes binding when we receive the payment.
Please check your emails (including your spam folder) regularly so that we do not have to give away your reserved spot. This is especially important if you are on the waiting list.

  • If you have any problems registering, please send us an email to neotangohamburg@web.de and we will find a solution as soon as possible.

  • Maintaining a balanced ratio between the two dance roles and between the dancers themselves is very important to us. Consequently, we may maintain waiting lists at various stages of the registration process to ensure this balance. If you want to secure a spot quickly, please register with a partner suitable for the event. Important: Both of you must fill out the form. We can only process couple registrations once both tickets have been paid for.

  • We have a separate allocation of spots for dancers of both roles. If you choose this role, we ask that—in addition to filling out the form—you briefly describe your dance experience in both roles in an email to neotangohamburg@web.de.

  • You can find the terms and conditions for ticket transfers here!
